Oh and yes, we are home!
24 hours equals the round trip driving time. On Thursday of last week we woke at 3 a.m., and by 3:20 we were out the door. We arrived in Myrtle Beach at a little after 3 which was when we were allowed to check in. I had suggested to hubby that we leave on Wednesday night, perhaps stay in Virginia, or even North Carolina over night…but due to the fact that check in wasn’t until 3 he nixed that idea. Instead opting to drive through mountains of West Virginia in fog that made that of the Gold Star Highway bridge between Groton and New London Connecticut look wimpy! We however arrived safe and sound. This morning we got up at around 6:40, took showers and then headed to IHOP for our last meal–which was incidentally our first meal as well. Then we went back to use the facilities and to gather up anything we may have (and did forget) to grab–the dirty clothes for example.
6 days–that is how long we were gone, and it was perfect despite the 2 days of rain that we encountered.
340–The number of photos that are on my digital cameras card.
Needless to say, this was exactly what we needed. Just to get away and not worry about anything at home. We did discuss our plans for procreation, but that wasn’t the highlight, nor was it constantly on my mind. Now we are back, and the mail has been gone through. The cat is seemingly thrilled to see us. Me, I am ready for bed.
I will be uploading some of the photos tomorrow. I promise, I won’t bore you with all 340 of them.
